The purpose of the Yorke & Mid North Trade School / Trade Training Centre Steering Committee is to:

  • Develop a Yorke and Mid North regional approach that incorporates Trade Schools, Trade Training Centres and Flexible delivery.  Intended outcomes are that across the Yorke and Mid North we increase the numbers of Australian School Based Apprenticeships and the access and availability of all students to Certificate and academic courses.

  • Develop flexible delivery approaches as a vehicle to achieve our outcomes.

  • Develop a web based system as the primary source of communication and information for all stakeholders.

  • Principal or nominee of Lead Trade School Eyre & Upper Spencer

  • Principal or nominee of Lead School of  Barossa, Lower North & Yorke Peninsula

  • Pt Pirie & Northern Yorke Peninsula Trade Training Centre

  • Flinders Regional Trade Training Consortium

  • Pichi Richi Trade Training Centre

  • Southern Yorke Peninsula representative

  • Balaklava, Clare & Riverton Trade Training Centre

  • Apprenticeship Brokers

  • Transition Brokers

  • Curriculum Advisor

  • Trade School ICT Project Manager

    Note: the committee may co-opt short term members as appropriate

Steering Committee Positions 2010:

Chair:         Liz Pannell, Principal, Peterborough High School

Deputy:      Sharron Ward, Principal, Kadina Memorial High School

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate the development of sustainable programs delivered through Trade Schools for the Future and Trade Training Centres.

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of  eLearning and distance delivery across the region.

  • Develop, maintain and improve clearly defined operational and decision making processes which enhance and support the collaboration of the various clusters.

  • Provide advice on funding options, allocation and management of resources across the region.

  • Facilitate and coordinate the dissemination of information.

  • Promote Trade Schools for the Future and Trade Training Centre programs.

  • Work with leaders to develop and improve teacher pedagogy that supports the delivery of a contemporary curriculum including implementing Future SACE initiatives.

  • Broker, plan and support professional learning opportunities.

  • Coordinate and support the work of Apprenticeship Brokers to increase the number of Australian School based Apprenticeships in the region.

  • Regional Website and Newsletter

  • Distribution lists

  • Forums at Leaders Days

Meetings:

  • Meetings will be held once a term at a venue to be decided at the preceding meeting.
